End of the World Sale Campaign- Bulchee!

As it so happens, I'm now officially a visual merchandiser with Bulchee. Bulchee's having an end of the season sale, and there's stuff up for grabs at upto 50% off! I've checked out some of the stuff (ok, I'm lying- I've checked out ALLL bulchee product) and they are pretty whack! Here's a quick artwork I made for them- adapted into emailers, posters, hoardings, standees, etc. etc.

As of now, we're going insane with a jam-packed 3 month calender.. while I'm going to try to keep this blog as true as I can to graphic design alone, don't get queasy in case you start seeing some fashion stuff up here!

Illustration Friday: Grounded

So lately I've been feeling that my illustrating hand is coming a bit loose at the hinges; what better way to get it back to all it's tightness by illustrating! I remembered that this week's Illustration Friday theme is "grounded", so while I was waiting to pick up my boyfriend (I reached an hour early since I wasn't sure of the routes or traffic), I decided to ink out a page. Inspired by the jolly time I had at the circus a few days ago!

Maybe next week I can get a little more elaborate and actually sit down with all my gear and illustrate!

Long Away, Soon to be Back!

Dear readers/ viewers/ browsers,

My profuse apologies for not having posted for the past many weeks - I came down with an extremely nasty bout of the carpal tunnel syndrome. Combined that with spondylitis, and it sure is a recipe for disaster. The doctor asked me to go easy on my work, and I haven't touched a computer for 3 months now [providing me with a much need breathing break].

I shall resume posting starting January,  (when I shall start undertaking and initiating projects again) and until then, Merry Xmas, Happy New Year, and please, please, take care of your arms & backs!

Cheers
M

Work @ the workplace!

Since most of my free time goes up in doing posters and the rest of it at work (where I'm not really doing posters), I thought it would  be nice if I could put up some other work that I've done for different clients for my office, Fryed. Here's some stuff that's been published by our clients:

The above two, are digital illustrations of Coorg that I did about 3 months ago for Vivanta by Taj, Coorg. They were used in standees during an exhibition at Vivanta itself. For the first illustration, I was asked to recreate a stylized version of a view from one of the rooms; a reference picture was mailed across to me to be used. The second illustration is that of coffee beans, because Coorg is famous for it's coffee.

Some in-store and window display work for the season campaign for travel safety for children for mom&me, mahindra, for Fryed. We thought we would start with a pop-art crash theme, and then went on to making it a little more hard-hitting, because safety turing transit, at the end of the day, is a very important factor for parents to keep in mind- especially with the number of road accidents per year increasing with every passing day!

Poster Design: Bhavishyavani Future Soundz

Bhavishyavani Future Soundz have been around for a good 3 years or so, now. This would be my second poster for them, the first one was done about two years ago, and unfortunately, the gig was scrapped. I wanted to try something different this time around- staying away from a background, and going pixely!
Here is the flyer:

If you're in Bangalore on the 9th and would like to hear them play, or are interested in knowing more about the event, here are the event details!

Poster Design: Sao Joao Grind 2011

Poster time again! Like last year, I was asked to design this year's Sao Joao Grind in Goa, organized by Muzic Matters. With Tuborg as a sponsor, it's always a challenge to work with their format and do something fun and challenging with it. This time around, the confirmation that Tuborg will be a sponsor came in a little late, so I had to adapt the poster to the Tuborg template.

I decided to go with a carnival feel, since Sao Joao is essentially, a festival. I decided to integrate a few vital objects used in the celebrations; the flag ropes hung across streets, patterns from various masks, and wreaths worn around the head! I managed to add in a whole bunch of textures, and a little illustration in the style of my Claudia Cazacu illustration- only this time it isn't vector, it's in raster! Below are the two posters; one with the Tuborg template (the final one), and one without (the original). Also, I happened to come across pictures of the event with sections of the flyer used across, so I'll be posting a few of those as well! Big ups to the Muzic Matters team; the event was a huge success with some 700-odd people cannonball-ing into the pool at the Rivera De Goa!

Oh! And more news- my bay beat collective poster got featured on the coroflot member's gallery! I got a really nice mail from coroflot about it (even though it was automated, I suppose)- and felt happy to have it featured there! Here's a screenshot!

Yippeee!
